A full hook-up site is provided for the host. Vern Whitaker Horse Camp is located approximately 8 miles north of the town of Borrego Springs, including 3 miles of dirt road to access the camp. One month minimum stay required.
- Campsites in the center of the park have full hook-ups, including sewer, water, electricity, and cable TV. The campground is next to the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) and functioning railroad tracks. A path leads through the campground and stairs descend a rock embankment to the beach. At high tide most of the beach is lost underwater.
- Santa Barbara is situated on the longest stretch of south facing coastline on the west coast. With its temperate weather and topography, it has often been called the American Riviera. It is home to miles of sandy beaches and many rich cultural and historical sites.
- The sites were spacious. Park rangers drove by frequently. The restrooms were clean as well as the porta potties. It was always stocked up with toilet paper. $1 for a 3 minute shower. There's also a water spigget near each camp section but we brought our own water to use for cooking. Fire pits have grills on them.
